SEHA DERBY: Veszprem smash Vardar

Hungarian champions MVM MKB Veszprem prove their TOP class by beating current SEHA GAZPROM South Stream League title holder RK Vardar Skopje 31:23 (17:12). From the very beginning, there was no question about the match winner. Hungarian best side and the fourth team in Europe last season, set the unbeliavable rhytm consisted of good defense and easy scoring, which was good reason for Vardar’s coach Raul Gonzales to took time-out in 7th minute – (3:0).

Sulic, Ilic and Zeitz, led their team to +5 on the half-time break. The prove of Hungarian superiority is also the fact that Vardar only once was on -2 during the match – 11:9 after the goal of Alex Dujshebaev. Great defensive performance of home team caused the problems for Vardar’s attack, but the main „victim“ was goalkeeper Petar Angelov, which net was the target of Sulic, Ruesga and Ugalde for +6 – 15:9.

Arpad Sterbik gave the boost of energy to his team at the start of second half, Vardar’s attack was a little better with Nemanja Pribak in the main role, but that was only in short period of time. After 20:17 for Veszprem, Serbian NT captain and European golden ball winner Momir Ilic began his fantastic series of 9 goals in a row for 15 minutes, after which Veszprem was on +8 – 28:20 in 53rd minute…
