Like in Hungary, the first trophy of the season goes to the trophy room of the Slovenian champions – RK Celje Pivovarna Laško. The title holders from Celje beat the biggest rival on domestic scene – RK Gorenje Velenje 29:27 (15:11) after 60 minutes of the great battle in which defeated team had +2 only five minutes before the buzzer.
The match has been played in “open-air” conditions in front of 1.600 people only few meters from the Adriatic sea in Portoroz. Handball arena was reconstructed tennis courts.
