Because of the financial crisis lots of Spanish team must sell their biggest players. Last year László Nagy, Marco Oneto, Cristian Ugalde and Chema Rodriguez left Barcelona and BM Atletico Madrid and transfered to MKB Veszprém. Now the domestic rival Pick Szeged got two Spanish players, Roberto García Parrondo and Niko Mindegía, thanks to Szeged’s new Spanish coach, Juan Carlos Pastor. Parrondo leaves Atletico Madrid and will replace Rajko Prodanovic in the right wing position. Mindegía, La Rioja’s middle back is one of the most talented Spanish youngs. They made a 3 years contract with Szeged.
