TBV Lemgo Lippe extends the contract with head coach Florian Kehrmann until 2027

TBV Lemgo Lippe is pleased to announce the contract extension with Florian Kehrmann. The 48-year-old head coach has extended his contract, originally valid until 2026, by another year. Kehrmann will now lead the Lippe-based Handball-Bundesliga team until June 30, 2027, entering his twelfth season as TBV’s head coach.

“When you’ve been with a club for so long, mutual trust and appreciation are the most important things – and that’s something we have here at TBV without any limits,” said the former world-class right wing happily about the new deal. Last weekend, Kehrmann’s team achieved a commanding derby win against GWD Minden, bringing their record to 11:3 points – the club’s best season start since 2008/09. “Working with this team is incredibly enjoyable. I am proud to see how individual players, the team as a whole, and the club continue to grow. We are constantly improving our training conditions and professional environment. That’s why I’m very happy to continue leading this development into the next season,” said Kehrmann. The Bundesliga’s longest-serving coach also emphasized the fans: “Over the last two or three years, I’ve noticed an incredible development among our supporters, which makes me very happy. More and more fans are traveling long distances to support us away from home, and the number of young fans in our arena keeps growing. All of this helps the team tremendously and reinforces my decision,” he added with a smile.

“Fifteen years as a player and by 2027 already twelve years as a coach – that’s an impressive and extremely valuable continuity, which has become rare in modern professional sports. Flo embodies the values that define TBV, and together we’ll continue to do everything for the development of the team and the club,” said TBV managing director Jörg Zereike, proud to continue working with his long-time colleague.

Advisory board chairman Herbert Vogel added: “Flo is the face of TBV Lemgo Lippe. He has been instrumental in our sporting and structural growth. His way of leading the team creates a special atmosphere appreciated by players and staff alike – and that’s now reflected in our results. We are very happy that he will stay with us and continue guiding TBV with his experience, expertise, and passion for at least another year.”

With Kehrmann’s extension, TBV Lemgo Lippe sends another strong signal of continuity and trust. Previously, the club had already secured long-term contracts with key players such as captain Tim Suton, Lukas Hutecek, Niels Versteijnen, Constantin Möstl, and Hendrik Wagner.
