The end of season for Jerry Tollbring
The black streak of injuries in the Fuchse Berlin team continues. After a serious knee injury to former captain Paul Drux, who ended his career for that reason, this time left winger Jerry Tollbring was injured.
The Swede suffered torn ligaments in the Champions League match with Paris Saint-Germain after only three and a half minutes of the game after a duel with Elohim Prandi when he was left lying on the floor with a painful grimace on his face. The team from the capital of Germany confirmed that Tolbring will undergo an operation and a long recovery, therefore the season is over for him. He will be replaced by Tim Freihofer until the end of the season, along with 18-year-old Jan Gruner, a member of the younger categories of the Foxes, who will be attached to the first team due to new circumstances. The leaders of the club, general manager Bob Hanning, as well as team coach Jaron Siewert, expressed their strong indignation.
“After Paul ended his career due to injury, this is the next blow for us. First, we will replace this deficiency with our own drive in the form of Jan Gruner. We will discuss everything else later, said Fikse CEO Bob Hanning. At the age of 18, Gruner is essentially part of the A-youth team and has become the champion of Germany with the younger categories of Fuchse up to 19 years. I must also point out that he is also a member of the young German national team under the age of 19,” Bob Hanning concluded.
“This was definitely bad news today when the final diagnosis was established,” said Berlin coach Jaron Siewert. Jeri has played great so far and this year he has provided us with security. Now we have to compensate as a team and above all to be a team,” said Siewert.
