Sławomir Szmal is new Polish Handball Federation president

Last Saturday, Sławomir Szmal was elected the new President of the Polish Handball Association for the years 2024-2028. Legendary Polish goalkeeper who had amazing career as a part of the national team, but also Industria Kielce squad which won EHF Champions League in 2016, will try to re-establish “Eagles” as a part of the TOP handball in following years:

  • After three years of hard work, I am very moved. I have big goals and a big commitment ahead of me. I feel responsible and I count on the team of people I want to work with and the entire community that I want to help. I announced my candidacy quite early, so I had a lot of time to visit different places in Poland and convince many people to my concept. The basis for us will be the popularization of handball among children and youth. I want to cooperate with the Ministry of Education to bring handball back to the PE lesson program. I also want to help clubs organize training materials so that classes for children are attractive. I am open to any cooperation with any community. I will not want to be a president sitting only in Warsaw. I will travel all over Poland, listen to the problems of the community and propose solutions – said Szmal for ZPRP website.
