THW Kiel and SG Flensburg call for World Championship 2021 canceling

THW Kiel and SG FLensburg Handewitt authorities made a lot of noise with statement-calling for canceling upcoming IHF World Championship 2021 in Egypt.

“Nothing against Egypt, but the players will probably have to be quarantined for 14 days afterwards. That makes no sense at all,” said THW supervisory board chairman Marc Weinstock in an interview with Sport-Bild .

Boy Meesenburg, head of the SG Advisory Board, also sees immense problems: “Egypt doesn’t exactly have the reputation of having the highest levels of hygiene in the world.” Instead, the two top clubs would have preferred to postpone the Bundesliga start from October to January. “If only to test our hygiene concepts in peace,” Weinstock explained, writes Sport1.
