Toni Gerona leads Japan

The successor of Dagur Sigurdsson and Antonio Carlos Ortega on the bench of the Japanese national team will be Toni Gerona.
The 51-years old Spanish coach overtook the position of the coach of Asian side who played at Olympics 2024 under the leadership of his compatriot Antonio Carlos Ortega.
Japan played good handball finishing the last in the Group behind strong European teams.
Gerona previously led Serbia for three and a half years providing 11th place at IHF World Championship 2023 as the best result of the national team in the decade.
He also led Tunisia to win African title in 2018.
