Valero Rivera had the first training as the new Qatar coach, along with his assistants, Veroljub Kosovac – former CAI Aragon coach, and Ricard Franch – who worked previously with the Spanish team at the previous World Championship. Valero Rivera also followed the decisive match in the Qatar league in which Lekhwiya drew against El Quiyada, and won the championship due to better goal difference.
