The first 1/4 Final match at the World Championship in Brasil brought a surprise. World Champion, Russia is eliminated from the fantastic French team 23:25 (12:13). French girls showed great – historical performance and beat probably the biggest favorite for the gold medal. Lacabrere scored five goals and goalkeeper, Amandine Leynaude had 13 important saves. In defeated Russian team, Emilia Turey scored 7 goals.
