ZRK Buducnost Podgorica to stop existing

Two-time EHF Champions League winners ZRK Buducnost Podgorica are on the edge of further existence.
One of the most successful teams in the recent history of women’s handball went into huge problems after general sponsor company Bemax surprisingly withdrew just before the start of the 2024/2025 season.
It meant the total collapse of the club organisation.
Legendary player, now part of the management Maja Bulatovic said to Montenegrian newspaper Dan that the “club will stop to exist”. In contrast, the vice-Major of the City of Podgorica Rakcevic noted that “City will try everything to help”.
However, the EHF Champions League level is no longer possible in Podgorica. Whether a club with 75 75-year tradition will disappear from the handball map, we will see in the upcoming days.
Rumours speak about possible Bojana Popovic move to Romanian Gloria Bistrica.
ZRK Buducnost won EHF Champions League in 2012 and 2015.
