HC Zamalek appoint Zeljko Babic for a new head-coach

Former Croatian national team coach and one of the most respected handball experts from the Balkan region — Željko Babić — has quickly found a new job after parting ways with domestic MRK Sesvete.
Ten days after the surprising departure of French coach Franck Maurice, the former head coach of Nîmes and Dunkerque, Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek has appointed a new man at the helm.
Maurice was dismissed in the middle of the IHF Super Globe (Club World Championship) held in Cairo, and the club’s management has now officially confirmed that it reached an agreement with Babić, who won bronze medal with Croatia at Men’s EHF EURO 2016.
The goal in the Egyptian giant remains unchanged — to bring the club back to the top of African handball and to end the dominance of eternal rivals Al Ahly, who reached the semifinals of the Club World Championship under Spanish coach David Davis.
