Pilipović leaves Kadetten, Car joins from Poreč

Goalkeeper Kristijan Pilipović will leave Kadetten Schaffhausen on October 31 at his own request and join North Macedonian club GRK Ohrid. As a replacement, the Swiss champions have signed Moreno Car, goalkeeper of the Croatian league’s third-placed team, RK Poreč.
Pilipović moves to North Macedonia
Long considered one of the best goalkeepers in Swiss handball, Pilipović has been a key figure for Kadetten since 2018 (with a short break in 2022), winning five league titles, two cups, and four Supercups.
At 30, the father of two is looking for a new challenge in North Macedonia, where Ohrid currently sits fourth in the domestic league and competes in Round 3 of the EHF European Cup.
“Leaving Kadetten was not an easy decision,” said Pilipović. “After so many successful years, I decided to take on a new challenge abroad – both professionally and personally, to continue developing.”
He thanked the club and fans:
“Kadetten are more than just a club to me – they became family and a second home. I will always remember these years and the atmosphere at the BBC Arena.”
Managing director David Graubner and president Giorgio Behr expressed gratitude for his contribution, wishing him success in the next chapter of his career.
Pilipović will play his final match for Kadetten on Saturday against TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen.
Moreno Car strengthens Kadetten
Kadetten reacted quickly by signing Moreno Car, an experienced Croatian goalkeeper from RK Poreč.
Car currently leads all Croatian Premier League goalkeeping statistics — with 90 saves, a 35.2% save rate, and an average of 12.8 saves per game.
He previously played for Nexe Našice, reaching the EHF European League Final Four, and posted a record 40.7% save rate in the 2021/22 season.
“Kadetten play at a very high level and are Swiss champions — that’s a great challenge for me,” said Car. “I want to help the team win trophies and integrate quickly, through teamwork and communication.”
Graubner stated that signing Car was key to allowing Pilipović’s departure:
“Moreno brings a wealth of international experience and knows our coaching staff. We’re confident he will help us achieve our ambitious goals quickly.”
