Mads Hoxer and Aalborg Handbold – 2030!
Danish TOP right back Mads Hoxer will stay at Aalborg Handbold until summer 2030.
Talented lefthander joined Aalborg Håndbold in the summer of 2022 from Mors-Thy Håndbold, and since then he has developed into a key and important player for the team.
– There is no doubt that Mads was already a very skilled player when he arrived, but over the past three years he has taken an even bigger step in his development. In my opinion, he is now among the best players in the world in his position, says team manager Martin Larsen.
– That’s why we are incredibly happy and proud that we have extended the cooperation until 2030 — something we have really worked hard to achieve. Along with several other players, Mads will form part of an extremely strong foundation for the next four to five years, and we are also sending a signal to the outside world that we intend to remain a major force internationally for a long time to come, Larsen adds.
The 24-year-old Hoxer is currently registered with 151 matches and 661 goals in the red Aalborg jersey, and so far he has played 10 matches for Denmark, with whom he also won World Championship gold in 2023.
The player from Thy hopes he can help Aalborg Håndbold win many more titles — and preferably the biggest one of all.
– There should be no doubt that I am extremely happy to be at Aalborg Håndbold. Even though my contract originally ran until 2027, I knew right away that I wanted to extend it as soon as the opportunity came.
– My personal ambitions match the club’s very well, and I hope we can continue bringing titles home. I also dream that one day we can win the Champions League. So I am really happy to stay here for many more years, and I look forward to putting on the red jersey and playing in front of our many fantastic fans, says Mads Hoxer.
