Luis Puertas to become BM Ademar Leon coach
BM Ademar Leon presented a new coach for the season 2026/2027. This is 29-years old assistant of current coach Daniel Gordo, Luis Puertas, who will overtake the team at the end of the season.
Puertas will assume this new responsibility after serving as assistant coach, first to Manolo Cadenas and later to Gordo , who rejected a contract renewal offer from the board, chaired by Cayetano Franco , weeks ago . In a statement, the club emphasizes that the decision stems from his “perfect knowledge of the current squad and his ability to provide continuity to our project,” given that, in addition to being an assistant coach, he also oversaw the first team’s physical conditioning and even served as the head of the Ademar youth academy.
Although other options were initially considered, such as former players from the León team Rubén Garabaya, Antonio García or Raúl Entrerríos , the chosen one was Puertas, who will share the direction of the team for the second half of the season with the first coach, Daniel Gordo, who could end up at UBU San Pablo Burgos of División de Honor B.
