IHF World Championship 2027 Draw: Argentina and Brazil to chase France

The draw has been held for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship, which will take place in Germany from 13 to 31 January 2027.
Hosts Germany were drawn alongside Serbia, Tunisia and Uruguay in Munich. The top three teams will advance to the main round, where they will face the three best teams from Group B in Cologne.
Croatia will face a difficult route to the quarter-finals, with Spain and France among their main rivals, while Sweden, Norway and Portugal will also have to deal with a dangerous Faroe Islands team on the road to the top eight.
Defending champions Denmark will begin their title defence in Kiel, where they will face Slovenia, Angola and the USA.
The World Championship will also be important in the qualification process for the Los Angeles Olympic Games. Teams finishing from second to eighth place will qualify for the Olympic Qualification Tournaments.
