MATEJA DODIĆ TO HBC NANTES: Serbian right wing joins French runners-up

And once again, the French runners-up have turned to the Balkans, writes Balkan-Handball.com.
After signing Luka Perić from RK Celje Pivovarna Laško last summer, Nantes have now completed the arrival of Serbian international Mateja Dodić.
The 23-year-old right wing from Vranje has parted ways with Zagreb after just over a year in the Croatian capital and will continue his career at the highest European level, in the EHF Champions League.
Dodić faced strong competition for minutes in Zagreb, where the right-wing position also included fellow Serbian international Aleksa Tufegdžić and club captain and Croatian international Filip Glavaš.
His first season in Zagreb was heavily disrupted by health problems which kept him out for several months following his move from Metaloplastika Šabac. At the start of the new campaign, he once again had to fight for playing time in a crowded rotation.
Dodić made his name in senior handball with Metaloplastika, earning a place in the Serbian senior national team. He was also part of Serbia’s talented 2002 generation that won the bronze medal at the 2022 European Junior Championship.
The agreement with HBC Nantes runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Nantes made a perfect start to their EHF Champions League campaign with two victories, although their domestic season has already produced a surprise after Toulouse ended their long unbeaten home run in the French championship.
