HBC Nantes keeps winning – after Skopje, Montpellier falls too
HBC Nantes continued their strong run with an impressive 36:31 away victory against Montpellier, only a few days after beating Vardar 33:32 in Skopje in the EHF Champions League.
Nantes successfully completed a demanding week, combining a tough European trip to North Macedonia with one of the biggest away games in the French league.
Noam Leopold led the winners with eight goals from ten attempts, while Nicolas Tournat was perfect with six goals from six shots. Thibaud Briet and Ian Tarrafeta added five goals each, while Ihor Turchenko and Luka Perić scored four apiece.
Goalkeeper Christoffer Bonde contributed seven saves, while Ivan Pešić added one.
For Montpellier, Bryan Monte was the top scorer with eight goals from 11 attempts, followed by Jack Thurin with six. David Balaguer scored four from four, while Rogério Moraes added three.
Montpellier’s goalkeeping duo could not slow down Nantes enough, with Rémi Desbonnet and Charles Bolzinger recording three saves each.
