Aalborg Handball make “profitable bussiness” for the 4th year in a row
With a result of 1.1 million kroner before tax for the 2023/24 season, Aalborg Handball delivers a million profit for the fourth year in a row, as well as the 14th year in a row with a positive result.
The result comes as a result of a season that in many ways set records in Aalborg Handball.
– In the past season, we won our seventh Danish championship and reached the finals at the Machineseeker EHF Champions League as well as the Santander Final4 in Denmark, just as we achieved a record-breaking amount of support at home, where for the first time we reached 150,000 spectators in one season , says Aalborg Handball’s chairman of the board Eigild B. Christensen, who was also pleased that season tickets were again sold out despite an expansion of the capacity in Sparekassen Danmark Arena to 5,500 spectators before the start of the 2023/24 season.
In addition to the expansion of the physical framework, a large investment was also made in the player squad that brought home the DM gold, in which profiles such as Niklas Landin, Aleks Vlah, Simon Hald, Lukas Nilsson and more all joined the team up to the previous season.
– Sportingly, we almost reached the goal in relation to our ambitions, but there should be no doubt that we are not satisfied and therefore continue to work hard to grow the club on all parameters, both on and off the pitch.
– Within the lines, the first steps have already been taken. We are happy that we were able to hire a coach like Maik Machulla to replace Stefan Madsen in the head coach’s chair, just as we have laid a solid foundation for the coming year with the extension of the agreements with Mads Hoxer and Thomas Arnoldsen. Finally, we are proud that we have been able to attract a star player like German Juri Knorr, who will join the club from the start of the coming season.
– On the commercial side, we also have many exciting initiatives underway and welcome the approach of several major partners, just as we continue to work towards our many loyal season ticket holders and fans to take the spectator experience in Sparekassen Danmark Arena to new heights, says Eigild B. Christensen further.
– All in all, the goal for this season, just like last season, is that we will win titles on a sustainable financial basis in all the tournaments we compete in, just as we continue to strive to create the best framework and experiences for the benefit and joy for our fans and partners, concludes Aalborg Handball’s chairman of the board.
