Aalborg Handbold find replacement for Landin

Aalborg Håndbold has announced that goalkeeper Niklas Landin will undergo knee surgery due to a meniscus injury, sidelining him for 6–8 weeks. The injury occurred after a promising preseason, and although it’s a setback, Landin is optimistic about returning in the autumn.
To fill the gap, Ágúst Björgvinsson from Ribe-Esbjerg HH has been loaned to Aalborg with immediate effect. The Icelandic international, who has over 50 caps and experience in both Danish and Swedish leagues, will partner Fabian Norsten in goal during Landin’s absence.
Aalborg’s director Jan Larsen expressed disappointment over the timing but was pleased with the quick agreement reached with Ribe-Esbjerg, calling Björgvinsson a solid replacement.
Aalborg Håndbold will continue their preseason at the Heide Cup in Germany this weekend and will begin their competitive season on 24 August with the Bambuni Super Cup against Skjern Håndbold in Randers.
