Ahmed El-Ahmar returns to Al-Zamalek

The Egyptian star, Ahmed El-Ahmar, confirmed on Saturday that he returns to his former club Al-Zamalek. The right-back, 31, signed on a two-year contract with the Egyptian team Al-Zamalek after three years at Qatari team Al-Jaisah. Since February, El-Ahmar loaned to Bundesliga team SG Flensburg.

El-Ahmar, who considered as the best African player, was part of SG Flensburg German cup winning last season. He scored one goal in the DHB Pokal final, and helped the German top team to achieve the third place in the Bundesliga and place for another year in EHF Champions League.

“Many things caused me to return to Al-Zamalek. Coach Salah Ayman and the players here are very special, but the main reason is that I wanted to reunion with my family”, he said to local newspaper in Cairo after the signing, “I want to return with Al-Zamalek to its glory days”
