Ambros Martin is new coach of RK Krim Mercator

Ambros Martin is the new coach of Slovenian TOP team RK Krim Mercator.
The team that opened Century with EHF Champions League triumph appointed famous Spanish coach to lead the team until the end of the season 2024/2025.
Martin is considered one of the best women’s handball coaches, with four EHF Champions League titles as coach of Hungarian Gyori AUDI ETO KC.
With less success Martin led the national teams of Russia and Romania, while currently leading Spain.
- When I started my coaching career some 25 years ago, Krim inspired me. Even then, I watched her compete, win and win the Champions League. It is one of the few clubs – maybe even the only one – that was in the top even then and still has big goals and ambitions. The fact that I got the opportunity to become the coach of this club means a lot to me. Not only to lead a team in the Champions League again, but to be able to be part of such a big and traditional club that convinced me with its history and vision. It’s not something I need, it’s something I want and that motivates me immensely. My first goal is not to think about Final4 – it has to be the result of the work we do. First of all, I have to focus on getting to know the team, the coaching staff and the way the club functions. It is important that step by step we build good and solid foundations that will lead us to this goal”.
