The third place at Asian Qualification tournament for Olympic Games in Rio were under the ambitions of Bahraini Handball Federation, who decided to sack Slovenian coach Borut Maček. Bahrain won the bronze medal in Doha by beating South Korea which was enough to ensure the placement in Olympic qualification tournament next April together with second-placed Iran.
However, it wasn’t enough that Maček, who led Iran at World Championship 2015 in Qatar, keeps his job.
Maček also coached Qatar at World Championship 2013 in Spain.
