Beach Handball gets first Mediterranean champions!

Italian city of Pescara was host of Beach Handball competition within first Mediterranean Beach Games. After 4 days of the matches where the spectatores were able to see many of them on top level, gold medals won teams of Italy by winning Greece in female and national team of Tunisia in male competition (defeated Cyprus by 2:1). In female competition, silver goes to Greece and bronze to Turkey.

Within male teams, second best is Cyprus, while bronze goes to the team of Turkey that won against greece in the third place match.
One of the bigest legacy of this I edition of Med Beach Games is the fact that there were present some new beach teams as Malta, Algeria and Albania and as well some that turn back to Beach Handball as Slovenia. It is the proof that development of this handball discipline is very fast and that next edition of those Games will be one of the world Beach Handball competition with highest quality in both female and male competition.
It is important to underline that although many of top Beach Handball Mediterranean (Croatia, Serbia, Spain) nations didn’t take part on this multisport competition, our beach sport was sport with the biggest number of competitors within all Med. games.
