From season 2017/2018, only two teams will be relegated and in the same time promoted to the best handball league in world – German DKB Bundesliga. This is the latest announcement from Germany, which want to make life easier and less risky to the teams from the bottom part of the League, but also get only real quality from the 2nd Bundesliga.
Currently, three teams from the bottom of the table losing elite status at the end of 34 rounds of Championship.
DKB Bundesliga has 18 teams. The first six or seven gain chance to play at European Cups – VELUX EHF Champions League and EHF Cup
