EC (W) Q: Poland beats Czech and qualifies, Germany confirms first place

Czech Republic‘s Women national team needed only a draw against Poland in order to qualify for the European Championship 2014 in Croatia and Hungary, but they were unable to cope against strong Polish squad this morning. The Polish girls took the lead from early beginning, and at point even had large lead of 5-6 goals. Only thing the Czech managed to do is finish the game at -3, 22-25 defeat which will see Poland travelling to the EC 2014. Karolina Kudlacz scored 8 goals from 9 attempts, leading Poland to this success.

Germany had lots of trouble last weekend against Macedonia in Skopje, but this was not the case when they met again today in Magdeburg. Germany proved that they are classes above Macedonia, and immediately build up a lead in the first half. The Macedonian girls couldn’t parry the strong hosts, and had to concede a huge 31-16 defeat. The victory will see now Germany claiming the first place in the group. Susann Muller scored 7 goals and was most efficient player in the match.
