The hosts of the Men´s EHF Cup Finals HBC Nantes clinched the direct ticket to the final weekend (18/19 May in Nantes) in the last round of the group phase and decided that only three quarter-finals will be played.
The draw of the quarter-finals will take place on Tuesday 26 March at 11:45 hrs local time at EHF Office in Vienna.
The two teams from Pot 2 will be drawn against two teams from Pot 1. Teams from Pot 2 will play the 1st leg on the home court. The remaining two teams from Pot 1 will be drawn against each other, the team drawn first will play the first leg on the home court. There will be no protection from teams from the same country, but teams from the same group of the group phase cannot face each other.
Danish side Team Tvis Holstebro and all three German teams including the winners of the last edition of the old EHF Cup Frisch Auf Göppingen are among the seeded teams in the Pot 1 before the draw, but all-German encounter in the last knock-out stage on the way to the EHF Cup is still possible, since two group winners will face each other.
From the second ranked teams only Slovenia´s RK Branik Maribor and Denmark´s KIF Kolding made it to the next stage as both will be in Pot 2.
The first leg of the quarter-finals is scheduled for 20/21 April, the second leg will follow next weekend (27/28 April).
