On their way to the VELUX EHF Champions League, Portuguese F.C Porto Vitalis has signed two ex- BM Atletico Madrid players, Alvaro Ferrer and David Davis. That will give a new energy and boost of confidence to the team of Serbian coach, Ljubomir Obradovic, who will meet Norwegian team Elverum in the qualification tournament semi-final, which will be hosted by Porto.
– Now we are working on a new era and we believe the squad has quality. now we have this month and a half of preparation and, shortly thereafter, start the game and I am optimistic about the future. We also have two new players with great experience in ASOBAL Liga (Spain) and in the Champions League, and I think that will easily adapt to the group. Lets see how they react to the first contacts with the team and how they integrate into our scheme of training and style of play – said Ljubomir Obradovic for the official website and added:
– Our first goal is to win the championship and the cup. We know that is not easy to play in European competition and achieve qualification for the Champions League – and the proof is that we have always been close, though I seem that the ‘near’ has always been very far. One thing is certain: we have squad leaders and followers to can get into the Champions League – concluded Obradovic.
