FRENCH LEAGUE RISING: Millions for TV rights

There are some great things happening in French club handball these days, and latest news about TV rights surely acclaim that. The league which stands for second strongest in the world right up to this point, with the most expensive team in the world (Paris Saint Germaint) have sold out their broadcasting rights and will be watched next five seasons for the incredible amount of 20 million euros!

Media Centre beIN SPORTS (subsidairy of famous AL Jazeera company), which is owned by the same people as PSG Handball, is to blame for this arrangement. They have already bought the rights for World championchip in 2015 for men and 2017 both for men and women. Their great conditions have put to and end contract of French Canal+ which broadcasted French league for 1,2 euros per season. French league will be available in countries on the north of Africa, Middle East and Australia… meanwhile, clubs can expect to benefit for at least 50 thousand euros per season.

There is no doubt that in years to come LNH1 will be serious candidate to dethrone Bundesliga from European handball top. They have already stepped out financially. German SPORT1 currently does Bundesliga broadcasts for amount of 1,8 million euros per season. Considering that French have no worries about their national team, popularity of this sport isn’t endagered as it is in Germany.
