Eight teams will compete for the Danish Championship crown in the next three months. Danish Men’s elite has specific system which always making some trouble to the favorites. Aalborg will try to defend the title with Nikolaj Jakobsen on the bench, coach who will takeover Rhein Neckar Lowen next summer, but the biggest favorites are two other teams – KIF Kolding Kobenhavn and Skjern Handbold:
– These teams are two biggest favorites for the title. KIF Kolding Kobenhavn is the biggest favourite, but they have a lot of injuries and therefore, I see them as favourite with Skjern, which actually beat Kolding a month ago – says Patrick Andersen, editor of hbold.dk, media partner of Handball-Planet.com.
KIF Kolding finished at the TOP of the regular part of the season, only point ahead od Skjern. The eight team, last qualified for the Play-Off is former champion Bjerringbro Silkeborg:
– They are a real dark horse in this Play-Off. In the regular part of the season, they underperformed and nobody expect something from them now, but there are players like Kristian Kjelling and Jannick Green. They could be unstoppable on their best day.
Aalborg as a champion isn’t in the „first row“ by the Danish expert:
– Aalborg is the champion, but they have injured players like Mads Mensah, Marcus Mørk and Johan Jakobsson. Therefore I think they will be a negative surprise. A team like SønderjyskE can exploit that. They have players like Simon Kristensen (former Bjerringbro-Silkeborg), Andreas Toudahl (former Skjern and Bjerringbro-Silkeborg) and Anders Petersen (former Team Tvis Holstebro and KIF Kolding) and if they play up to their best they can be a surprise in the end with a team like Team Tvis Holstebro – concluded Andersen.
