GAZPROM and SEHA sign 4-years deal – Hungarians request three clubs, Serbs return

The SEHA assembly held today in Skopje chose its’ new president – Mihajlo Mihajlovski, who will replace Sandi Sola on that position, who resigned citing morale reasons. Vicepresidents of the SEHA league will be Velimir Marjanovic (SHF president), Agron Hajredin (handball manager) and vice-president of the CHF – Toma Grahovac.

– A deal has been signed with Gazprom, which is great precondition to make the level of the SEHA League near that of Bundesliga in couple of years. It’s a great project and the whole region should make use of it and handball should expand.

GAZPROM AND SEHA WITH A FOUR-YEAR MILLION DEAL

– Director of the league will be Sinisa Ostojic, while competition commission manager will remain Marjan Nachevski, who apparently was praised for his work, as 95% of the games started when scheduled. – added Mihajlovski.

BY THE END OF MAY THE LEAGUE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE KNOWN

By the end of the next month the participants for next years’ third year edition of the league will be decided. There will be contracts signed by all clubs and the sponsors, which means that the sponsor will cover all expenses for travels, accommodation and paying the officials. The clubs will have to commit to have Gerflor floor, LED displays and 50% broadcasts via satellite.

IN THE LEAGUE TWO SERBIAN CLUBS – BORAC AND BREST MESHKOV HAVE DEFINITE PLACE

– At this moment two teams from Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia will play, and one team will have Montenegro, one from Slovakia and Brest Meshkov from Belarus. From Bosnia and Hercegovina Borac Banja Luka have the right to play, while there might be second team playing if they fulfill the conditions. If not, other solution will be seeked.

HUNGARIANS WANT THREE CLUBS AND F4 EVERY SECOND YEAR

– Hungary wants three representatives in the SEHA League and the Final Four played in Hungary every second year. We answered that they can have two teams, and that the F4 can be played only in case if one of the teams in TOP4 is Hungarian. As with this year, when we had both Metalurg and Vardar in TOP4…

AT LEAST 10 CLUBS, PROBABLY 12

– The league won’t have more than 12 clubs. All the clubs signed a contract with the league and the federation as guaranteeing factor.

TALKS ABOUT TEAMS PLAYING THE EHF-ORGANIZED EVENTS

– We had problems in the first season, this season we raised the level, and with the coming of the sponsor, the next season should definitely be best one so far. We will start conversations with the EHF about the possibility of our clubs playing the EHF Champions and EHF Cup. Our intention is to have the champion playing in EHF Champions League, while the second and the third in the EHF Cup…

PRIZES FOR THIS YEARS’ F4 PARTICIPANTS

– GAZPROM will give money prizes to the four teams at this years’ F4 in Skopje. The winner will get 35.000 euros, the second-placed 25.000 euros, while the third and the fourth will receive 15.000 and 5.000 euros respectively. – concluded Mihajlovski.
