Denmark will have to look for a new national team head-coach! Gudmundur Gudmundsson announced his decision to leave the job on the end of current contract in summer 2017. Icelander overtook national team in 2014 with only average start at Qatar 2015 and EHF EURO 2016, where Denmark were out of the medal battles.
However, the biggest success and something about Danes dreamed was gold medal at Olympic Games in Rio. Gudmundsson achieved something what his predecessor Ulrik Wilbek didn’t despite two European gold medals in 2008 and 2012.
Icelander has also Olympic silver medal with Iceland in 2008. He worked also with Rhein Neckar Lowen in DKB Bundesliga.
