Russian TOP club Rostov Don and Spanish coach Ambros Martin parted ways surprisingly! Spanish coach, who won four titles of the Women’s EHF Champions League with Gyori AUDI ETO KC, will stay on the bench of the Russian national team:
– It was a difficult decision for me. I have had two wonderful seasons with this team. A lot of work has been done, there have been great victories. I felt very good at Rostov-Don. The only reason I leave the team is the desire to be close to my family, with the children, whom I really miss. There are important things in life for which you have to make difficult decisions.
Let us remind you that a Spanish specialist led our team before the start of the 2018/2019 season. Together with Rostov-Don, Ambros became a two-time champion of Russia, a two-time winner of the country’s Super Cup and a winner of the national Cup, as well as a silver medalist in the Champions League.
– Rostov-Don is an ambitious club with big goals every season. I am very sorry that together we did not manage to win the Champions League. I wish the team to take the long-awaited trophy as soon as possible, because the players and the club are ready for this.
We thank Ambros Martin for the two seasons spent at Rostov-Don. Under the guidance of a Spanish specialist, our team has shown a vivid and memorable game both in Russian and international tournaments.
– I want to say thank you to the team, Ivan Ignatievich Savvidi, the club’s management, the staff and, of course, thank our fans, who welcomed me well and supported and support Rostov-Don all this time. There are people in Rostov who understand handball and love it with all their hearts.
MARTIN TO LEAD RUSSIA
– I am leaving Rostov-Don, but I will remain in the Russian national team and will be happy to return to Rostov-on-Don again and play the games of the national team at the Sports Palace.
