Henrik Mollgaard after loss in Cologne: The worst defeat in my career

Aalborg Handbold defensive chief Henrik Mollgaard was sad after his team lost EHF Champions League 2024 Final against FC Barcelona at Lanxess Arena in Cologne. The member of the golden era of the Danish national team pointed out that this loss at the final, second for Aalborg against the same rival in three years time, is maybe the worst in his professional career.

– This is maybe the worst defeat in my career. I put my team ahead of the national team. This dream of winning the Champions League with Danish team seemed impossible five years ago. We were for the second time in a final. Barcelona was obviously favourites, but everything came down on one possession. Hopefully, we will be here next year, but when I look at which team wasn’t here, I can’t guarantee anything. Even with this defeat Aalborg’s dream is still alive”, said Henrik Molgaard.
