The IHF Council decided yesterday (16 July), in their eighth meeting of this electoral period, to postpone the 2020 IHF Men’s Super Globe as well as the 2020 IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship.
The IHF is continuously monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 with the health and safety of teams and their entourage, officials, delegates, staff and fans as top priorities. The restrictions in the host countries and other organisational challenges, the IHF and the organisers would have to face has led to the decision that the two events cannot be held in the originally scheduled period.
The 2020 IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship was scheduled to take place from 29 September to 11 October in Croatia, while the 2020 IHF Men’s Super Globe was scheduled to be held from 6 to 10 October in Saudi Arabia.
The IHF will now find a solution with all stakeholders involved and provide updates on the competitions in due course.
