It is a sad day for Barcelona and handball globally. One of the most iconic and friendly guys in world of handball, Victor Tomas, announced retirement due health problems.
The 35-years old Barca Lassa’ captain talked at media conference about his decision.
– In the summer of last year, in the medical check-ups, the club finds me an atrioventricular block. This summer we go back to testing and it has worsened. It is a problem of the electrical system of the heart. I get more tests and in all the conversations I have they tell me that I must make this decision. One of the possible consequences of continuing to ask my heart for this level of work was to have to get to put a pacemaker in the future. After talking a lot with Guti, who besides being an excellent doctor is very friendly to me, and consulting with specialists, there was no solution but to make this decision – said Tomas.
