Itxako’s club website announced that the club won’t be competing in the Champions League because they woulnd’t be able to meet all the criteria, and that the team might be actually playing in the EHF-Cup. This speaks clearly of the financial handball crisis that is now actual in the Spanish handball, visible mostly through many players leaving ASOBAL for other leagues, and now this with Itxako cancelling their spot in the Champions League.
