Ivan Cupic to retire – Amazing career with 3 crowns and 810 EHF CL goals

Legendary Croatian right wing Ivan Cupic played his last match at EHF Champions League in Montpellier, where RK Zagreb lost in a knock-out battle against French vice-champions.

The 38-years old lefthander will end his professional career next summer.

Cupic had an amazing journey since 2002, when he began playing at home team RK Metkovic Jambo. He won three EHF Champions League trophies with Vive Kielce in 2016 and RK Vardar twice – in 2017 and 2019.

Croatian goal-machine scored 810 goals in total at elite European club’s competition.

He played also for Octavio Pilotes, RK Gorenje, RK Medvescak, Rhein Neckar Lowen. In 2021, he moved back to Croatia, taking Zagreb’s jersey.

Cupic will be the new assistant of Andrija Nikolic at RK Zagreb coaching staff for the season 2024/2025.
