One of the biggest European handball stars, Kiril Lazarov commented Olympic tournament in London in an interview for Balkan-Handball.com.
– We have seen quality handball. In general, quality of performances are much better than in European or World’s Championships. Teams have more time for preparation, that is probably the main reason – said Lazarov and talked about best teams:
– Results and Group’s positions are expected. I would put Spain ahead of Denmark in Group B. Iceland beat France, but in that kind of the games, both teams can win.
Lazarov’s prediction of quarter-finals:
CROATIA – TUNISIA
I expect that Croatia win in this game with their inteligence. They are too strong and I think that they will keep strength for the upcoming matches.
FRANCE – SPAIN
I will, of course, support Spain, but however, it won’t be easy for them to reach semi-finals.
ICELAND – HUNGARY
Maybe is Iceland favourite for the gold as the winner of Group A, but I give 50-50 chances in this match.
DENMARK – SWEDEN
Sweden looks good, about Denmark, you can’t say anything but – European champions. Knudsen is very important player for them, I don’t know if he will play or not. I don’t understand substition of Lauge for Boesen. Sweden has more chances to win…
