Knorr, Arnoldsen and Hoxer Aalborg’s future: We have a vision to become the world’s best handball club
Thomas Arnoldsen until 2028, Mads Hoxer will stay at Aalborg Handbold until 2027. Now, the EHF Champions League twice runners-up announced signing of one of the best playmakers of the younger generation, German Juri Knorr. The member of Rhein Neckar Lowen and German national team will join the team in summer 2025. Aalborg Handbold obviosly preparing an era which will last long…
– As many probably know, we have a vision to become the world’s best handball club and to win the EHF Champions League. That is why we are also continuously looking to add the best players and I have no doubt that Juri Knorr is a profile that will strengthen us from next summer. His merits speak for themselves and although he has already achieved a lot, he is also a player who still has his best years ahead of him. Juri has a unique view of the game, but is also extremely dangerous to score, so we have no doubt that he will be able to lift our game and level to new heights, says Aalborg Handball director Jan Larsen.
– Combined with the announcements earlier this week about the extensions of the agreements with Mads Hoxer and Thomas Arnoldsen, we feel that in the coming years we have a strong foundation to build on in the efforts to reach our goals, says Jan Larsen.
For Juri Knorr, the choice of Aalborg Handball as a new club was quite obvious, even though it is usually Danish handball players who go to Germany – and not the other way around.
– I am very happy and proud to join a club like Aalborg Handball, which has a great history, is the reigning Danish champions and not least one of the main candidates for the Champions League title. I have also noticed that many skilled players have come to the Danish league over the past few years and I think that the league has many skilled and “ball-wise” players, as well as a generally high level. Before I made the decision, I spoke to both coaches and managers at the club, as well as other players, including Lukas Nilsson, who all praise both the club and the city. So I have a really good feeling and am very much looking forward to being a part of it all from next summer, says Juri Knorr.
