Mirko Alilovic to stay in Szeged until 2023: My goal is CL trophy

The Croatian goalkeeper Mirko Alilovic will stay at MOL Pick Szeged. According to the new deal signed, the 35-years old goalie will keep goal-line of the Hungarian vice-champions until summer 2023.

In Mirko we met an excellent athlete, an exemplary family father, who is a great strength of our team – said dr. Peter Erno Szucs, Chairman of MOL Pick Szeged.

Alilovic began to play handball in his hometown at HRK Izvidjac Ljubuski before he moved to BM Ademar Leon. Before Szeged, Alilovic played at RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko and Telekom Veszprem. For many years he was a leading person between the posts in Croatian national team, winning a lot of medals between 2016 and 2013.

– My family and I live very happily in Szeged, so I was happy to sign my new contract. This is the best place for me in my profession and in my private life as well. I like to play here, we really like Hungary, and we will definitely stay here for another three years.  My goal is to get better in everything and get the trophy, which has not been possible in the history of the club, to win the Champions League with Szeged. I want to continue to help my teammates, to pass on them experience I have, ”said Mirko Alilovic.
