Montpellier won the French Cup. Montpellier despite playing without Karabatic, Kavticnik and and Salou, entered the game as a big favorite, but Ivry immediately showed that it will be no easy game. The first half was played goal-for-goal and no team had a serious lead, the half ending 13-13. Montpellier took slight advantage in the second half, managing to hold to a goal or lead during the first 20 minutes of the second half. The last 10 minutes saw Montpellier playing better, making it 28-24 in the 57th minute. It was easy for MHB to keep the lead until the final whistle, with the result standing at 29:25.
