One of the best women’s handball players of the last decade, Cristina Neagu, criticized decision of Spanish coach Ambros Martin to terminate contract with Romanian national Federation in order to overtake Russian national team in the last year of the Olympic cycle as the successor of Evgeny Trefilov.
- I was shocked when I found out that Ambros Martin left the national team of Romania. He dreamed of the Olympics, to get to Tokyo was his goal. I did not understand what happened. I think this is his wrong decision. At least unfair to handball players. Now I am pleased that Thomas Ryude led the national team. From my point of view, it is inappropriate to do such things at such a moment, a year before the Olympics – said Cristina to gsp.ro.
