Norway and Hergeirsson together until 2020!

Norwegian Handball Federation announced new deal with Thorir Hergeirsson until 2020! The successful Icelander replaced legendary Marit Breivik in 2009, but golden line of success stayed almost the same. The 51- years old coach won World gold medal in 2010, continued with Olympic gold in 2012 and two first places at European Championships 2010 and 2014.

-I still have desire and motivation to participate and work in an optimal  environment, with dedicated players and coaches, said Thorir Hergeirsson in a comment that he has extended its contract with the NHF.

– We are hungry for new goals and challenges, and sees great development potential of the team in the years ahead. It is motivating to work in an organization with high ambitions. I am glad to have both Mia Høgdahl and Mats Olsson further. We are humble, very motivated and excited about what is coming, added Hergeirsson.

Norway begin final preparations for this year’s World Championship in Denmark with Møbelringen Cup, which this time played on Gjovik and Lillehammer. Norway meet Russia (26.11), Netherlands (Saturday, 28.11) and Sweden (29.11). The first rival at WCh 2015 will be Russia.
