PPD Zagreb beat RK Celje with 79 seconds for last attack!?

RK PPD Zagreb won important battle for EHF Champions League TOP 16 against RK Celje Pivovarna Laško 23:21 (14:10) at Arena Zagreb. The Croatian champions had last 79 seconds to keep the ball in the last attack and save two-goals win which was enough to put Slovenians out of the European elite competition.

Belarussian referees Andrey Gusko and Siarhei Repkin gave the sign for “passive play” at 59:40, exactly 59 seconds since Celje’s last goal for 23:21. Home players used the rule of “six passes” to keep the ball until the end without shot on the goal!

In the first match of two rivals, Celje PL beat PPD Zagreb 30:28, so now Croatian best side is on the sixth place and wait result from Skopje, where Vardar and IFK Kristianstad will play on Saturday.

The Swedish team needs a point to qualify for EHF CL TOP 16 ahead of Balkan teams.
