Qatar celebrated victory 28:23 over Brazil in the opening match of Qatar 2015 in front of only 6.000 fans in more than half empty Lusail Multipurpose hall in Doha.
The host team of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship opened the match in the best possible manner. Even the hall wasn’t sold-out, the home team players got the wings from the fans and led by rampant line player Alla Hassab made five goals difference after opening 14 minutes (7:3). Two goals of Qatari right back Žarko Marković provided the highest advantage for the team coached by Valero Rivera – 13:6, but the last ten minutes were ceirtanly something what the Spaniard didn’t want to see from his team. Brazilians made the fantastic come back with 6:1 series and came closer until the half-time buzzer – 14:12.
