Slovenian vice-champions RK Gorenje will try to raise their form and potential with the new coach. Team management decided to make mutual agreement with coach Marko Sibila after bad results at the start of the season 2016/2017. The new coach, interim solution, will be Borut Plaskan, the best scorer in RK Gorenje history.
The first dissapointment of the season was missing qualification to EHF Champions League at tournament in Presov, where home team Tatran were better at the final.
