Two of the biggest favorites for winning championships in Romania, former Challenge Cup winners, UCM Resita and Steaua Bucurest, lost points in the first round of a new season. UCM Resita lost their match in Odorhei 30:31, while Steaua had much more problem to stay competitive in away match against Eneriga Panduri 31:26. From all of this official champion, HCM Constanta took advantagea after they beat Dinamo in Brasov 32:27.
