Russia beat France in thriller

The best Russian handball girls look again powerful with Evgeny Trefilov on the bench. The last 20 minutes of the encounter with South Korea in the opener, were just a warm-up for an exhausting fight with France, but at the end, Zbornaya komanda won by 26:25 (15:10).

The match of TOP quality handball has been seen at Future Arena. The French girls didn’t give up showing great motivation to make turnover, but at the end, Russia was better exactly for a goal!

The East-European team led 18:13, but powerful Lacabrere, the best girl this afternoon with 11 goals in total, put her team in the game in the last 15 minutes – 21:20.

However, Polina Kuznetsova, from the other side, couldn’t miss important shots in the last few minutes. She netted six, but Olga Akopian was match-winner with a goal for 26:23 80 seconds before the buzzer. France managed to score twice, but that was all from the Olivier Krumbolz’s squad.

In the first match of the Day 2, Sweden beat Korea 31:28.
