Headcoach of Serbian national team, Veselin Vukovic, talked for Balkan-handball.com about chances of his squad at WC 2011 in Sweden, where is Serbia in a tough group with Denmark, Croatia, Romania, Algeria and Australia:
– I remember how we beat Denmark last time in qualification round for WC 2001. In first match was three goals for us, but we played fantastic 3-2-1 defense in second match in Denmark and threw them out from a big competition. We don’t have a reason to afraid of someone in Sweden. We can play with almost all TOP teams, if we respect a deal from locker room. That is a only way to defend a colors of our country. I am a little bit woried for some positions in a team, expecially right wing, but we have time to talk about that and solve problems.
Serbia was 8th at WC 2009 in Croatia. A year after at EURO 2010, Serbian national team with a Sead Hasanefendic on the bench took a 13th place. Vukovic is appointed on the position of headcoach in March and had succesfull June, when Serbia beat Czech Republic in qualification round for Sweden.
